“Even when I was on X Factor it used to take me so long to get ready because I’d think it was showing.”
As you can see, he already had a receding hairline during his audition for the show, albeit a minor one.
His temples started to creep back up, forming that dreaded V-shaped hairline slowly.
While this recession was minor, it was clear that his condition could only get worse from here.
“I was so paranoid about it, I started buying sprays for my scalp to make it dark so you couldn’t tell.”
Jake also started experimenting with various hair loss products in an attempt to slow down his hair loss. However, his efforts to regain some lost ground proved unsuccessful.
“I’ve been using Regaine Foam for the past two years. That’s cost me loads — a year’s worth of foam and tablets are £180, and I’d spend the same on the Regaine Solution, too”
However, the medication wasn’t able to provide any relief. Jake kept losing hair, which became glaringly obvious during the shoot of “I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here”.
He said “I’ve got a hairline like Dracula with two triangles at the front. It has been in my mind for five years.”
After years of struggling with this condition, the celeb jungle finally gave him the last push to take matters into his own hands.
After the show concluded he gave an interview with then-girlfriend Danielle Fogarty.
The star said, “I’ve done something for myself to sort my insecurity out.”
The star finally had enough of his decade-long battle with hair loss and decided to turn to hair transplants for a lasting solution.
